SpaceX Secures Multi-Billion-Dollar AI Compute Deal with Google
According to reports, Google has agreed to pay SpaceX around $920 million per month for AI compute capacity through June 2029. The arrangement is valued at nearly $30 billion over its full duration and includes the use of approximately 110,000 high-performance computing components such as NVIDIA GPUs, CPUs, memory units, and related hardware, as disclosed in a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
Google stated that the deal is designed to support growing demand for its Gemini Enterprise AI platform, describing SpaceX as a long-standing partner within its cloud ecosystem.
The agreement follows a separate major contract signed in May with AI company Anthropic, which reportedly involves monthly payments of about $1.25 billion for access to SpaceX data center capacity. That arrangement is expected to run through May 2029 and is estimated to total roughly $45 billion over three years, according to industry reporting.
SpaceX has indicated that such agreements help monetize surplus computing resources while still allowing flexibility to redirect capacity for internal operations when needed. The company, which has integrated with X and xAI, reported approximately $4.7 billion in revenue in the first quarter of 2026, alongside losses nearing $4.3 billion.
These AI infrastructure deals are being viewed as strategically significant ahead of SpaceX’s anticipated public listing, which is expected to be one of the largest in market history.
