RDCY Shareholders Sean C. Domnick and Troy A. Rafferty Honored With Prestigious Florida Justice Association Awards

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla., Sept. 21, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Shareholders Sean C. Domnick and Troy A. Rafferty of Rafferty Domnick Cunningham & Yaffa (RDCY) have been honored by the Florida Justice Association (FJA) with two of the organization’s distinguished awards recognizing their decades of advocacy, leadership and commitment to the pursuit of justice.

Domnick will receive the Al J. Cone Lifetime Achievement Award, which recognizes a career of exceptional leadership, integrity, service and contributions to the legal profession. Rafferty will receive the Jon E. Krupnick Award for Perseverance, honoring his extraordinary determination in pursuing justice for clients facing seemingly insurmountable obstacles. These awards will be presented at FJA’s 2026 Masters of Justice seminar.

Domnick is a nationally recognized civil trial lawyer who has spent his career representing victims of catastrophic injuries and families affected by wrongful death, medical malpractice, product liability and nursing home abuse. His work has included numerous significant verdicts and settlements, including the No. 1 medical malpractice verdict in the nation in 2014. He was later inducted into the Daily Business Review Verdicts Hall of Fame.

Board certified by The Florida Bar in Civil Trial Law, Domnick is a Fellow of the American Board of Trial Advocates and the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. He has also served in leadership roles across the civil justice community, including as past president of the American Association for Justice, past president of the Palm Beach County Justice Association and past president of the Miami-Dade Trial Lawyers Association. He has served on the FJA Board of Directors since 1996.

Beyond his courtroom work, Domnick has devoted significant time to mentoring lawyers and advancing the civil justice system. His leadership and service have made him a trusted figure among trial lawyers throughout Florida and across the country.

Rafferty has spent more than three decades representing individuals and families harmed by defective drugs and dangerous products and has become nationally recognized for his leadership in complex mass tort litigation.

His litigation experience includes work involving opioids, Depo-Provera, Vioxx, Benicar, Gadolinium and other dangerous products. He has served on leadership teams in major national proceedings, including as Plaintiffs Executive Committee member in the Depo-Provera multidistrict litigation and as Plaintiffs Liaison Counsel and Settlement Committee member in the nationwide opioid litigation, which resulted in a $36 billion settlement.

One of the defining examples of Rafferty’s perseverance came through his work representing survivors of abuse at the former Arthur G. Dozier School for Boys in Marianna, Florida. Working pro bono over several years, Rafferty helped bring decades of survivor testimony to state lawmakers and advocated for recognition and compensation for those who had suffered abuse. His efforts contributed to the creation of a $20 million legislative compensation fund for approximately 900 surviving victims.

A past president of the Florida Justice Association and recipient of the FJA Perry Nichols Award, Rafferty has also dedicated himself to educating other lawyers and strengthening the legal profession.

Both awards reflect careers that extend beyond individual cases and verdicts — careers defined by service to clients, leadership within the legal profession and a sustained commitment to pursuing justice.
