Attorney General Jackley Urges SD Consumers to Claim Compensation for Inflated Generic Drug Prices

PIERRE, S.D. – South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley urges consumers to check their eligibility for compensation for certain generic drug purchases and to submit a claim for compensation.

The U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut granted preliminary approval to a plan to distribute settlement funds paid by generic drug manufacturers in exchange for settlement of claims that those companies illegally conspired to raise the prices of generic drugs. The list of generic drugs can be found here: https://www.aggenericdrugs.com/English/Home/portalid/0

“I will not allow South Dakota consumers to pay inflated prices for generic drugs,” said Attorney General Jackley. “Generic drug companies cannot be allowed to profit through illegally raised prices.”

South Dakota is part of a coalition of nearly all states and territories which have engaged in a series of antitrust cases against drug companies since 2016.  Settlements already announced have totaled $96.5 million.
